About the Instructor
Fran Astino (she/her) is a queer, fat yoga teacher and forever student. She offers a variety of services across the yoga and wellness industry, including private yoga, duo and trio sessions, sound meditation experiences, and ceremonial circles for the moon cycles.
Class Description & Additional Information
Incorporating a blend of gentle movements and mindful breathing, Fran’s classes go beyond the physical practice—fostering empowerment, grounding, and self-love. She believes yoga is a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth, and strives to make each class an enriching and accessible experience for everyone.
This class will include a 10-minute savasana (guided rest/meditation) at the end of class.
We will be practicing yoga on wood floors. If you have a yoga mat, please bring it with you! Fran will have some mats available if you'd like to double up or if you don’t have one. While we do not currently have props, the flow Fran leads will be accessible without them. If you have your own yoga props (blocks, bolsters, blankets, etc.), you are absolutely welcome to bring them.

Plaster Sheet Paintings
In this workshop we will explore how plaster cloth can elevate our painting process. You may have worn this material if you’ve ever broken a bone and gotten a hard cast, used it to make masks or sculptures, or seen it at a craft store. This time we will be using it on a 2 dimensional surface to add texture and blur the line between painting and sculpture. Plaster cloth behaves just like normal cloth when wet, and then hardens once dry. You can cut and mold it into virtually any shape you’d like, then either leave it as is or paint over it. There are endless possibilities for how this material can be used, and this workshop will help you find the one, or multiple, methods that are most exciting to you.
